Late Breaking Results @ISPIM 2024, Tallinn

Today, I had the excellent opportunity to discuss my current late breaking results from my running research at the XXXV ISPIM Conference in Tallinn. The paper and the presentation you can dowload online.

Short Summary:
My mission is to provide data-based education to increase the proportion of innovators.
– Our recent primary data collection with 230 participants revealed that only 1/3 of high school students are aware of their strengths (what they can do better than others, what they can do effortlessly, what they are really good at), and 1/3 of students are aware of what profession they really want to pursue –> crazy, right?
– Could it be that the study drop-out rate of around 30% (DZHW, 2022) or the transfer rate of 10-30% (DZHW, 2022), or even the internal resignation of around 50% of those in employment (Gallup, 2023) are related to this?
– In our research, we are examining the innovation profile of students between the ages of 16 and 30.
– To this end, creativity, task commitment, cognitive ability, and personality traits are assessed using valid, objective, and reliable questionnaires.
– These are correlated with the performance achieved. Students create solutions for a complex task. And the output is evaluated by an interdisciplinary professor team (six professors from different departments) based on five criteria (originality, sustainability, feasibility, viability, desirability).
– Our vision is to feedback the students’ innovation potential and performance with the mentioned criteria, so that they can learn from it.
– We use experiments to compare whether the feedback is useful and which interventions we can use to influence the result (e.g., personalized chatbots, videos, compliments).

I am currently looking for schools, universities, and companies that would like to participate in an online data collection lasting around 30-45 minutes. Ideally, we would conduct this in one room to create comparable survey conditions.

Many thanks to Stefan E. Slembrouck for the great pictures in action and your valuable questions as well as Tarmo Koppel for your valuable feedback. #ISPIM #innovation #research #education #transformation #upskilling #complexproblemsolving
