It was a pleasure for me to interview the book author Maike Petersen about her digital marketing insights. Her book “Rock your Digital Business” became famous for its practical tips and a cheeky tone. Our conversation was about the status-quo of the digital maturity in German medium-sized businesses, the special features of digital marketing and what needs to be done so that companies can improve their reach and sales with the help of (automated) digital marketing campaigns. Three core insights for everyone: 1. Those who do digital marketing correctly live a clear digital strategy, focus on channels that fit the strategy and set the goals using KPIs that are measured with metrics. 2. Digital marketing is often a craft that has to be understood and implemented and is often not as fancy as everyone thinks. 3. Little budget requires more creativity.
